A Founder’s Story
In 2002, Miles Procter was headhunted by a large UK-based roofing and insulation organisation. Starting out as a customer service manager, Miles quickly moved into a technical support role following an in-depth training program. Five years later, he was promoted to a team management role.
In an effort to further develop his skills, Miles trained to become a Renewable Energy Engineer. His Engineering certifications include plumbing, heat pumps, biomass heating, ground source heating, solar thermal, underfloor heating and solar PV. This training helped him gain a thorough understanding of thermal performance and energy efficiency, which led him to form his business, Eco Home.
Eco Home soon became a government-accredited installer of renewable technologies. Due to the need to carry out SAP calculations prior to each installation, Miles discovered new ways to enhance the energy efficiency of conservatories. As an established and accomplished renewable energy engineer with experience in roofing installation and insulation, Miles remained committed to helping property owners reduce their carbon footprint and lower their energy bills.
“Conservatories are one of the primary energy-draining areas in a home. This problem was highlighted time and time again during regular SAP calculations and renewable surveys, yet nothing was being done about it.”, says Miles.
Working exclusively alongside German manufacturers, the Eco Home Group team developed a range of advanced insulated roofing systems specifically for conservatories that boosted energy efficiency whilst creating a comfortable living space. All Seasons Roof was born and operated under the Eco Home Group banner.
“We have been very fortunate to carry out a number of high-profile installations but there is one which really stands out for me – Dr Jane Goodall, who is an acclaimed conservationist. It has been a privilege to carry out work for Jane and consult on the renewable energy requirements for her island and charity. Her shared values of preserving and lowering energy consumption is truly inspiring and her educational approach has helped generations. Even now, Jane remains committed to travelling across the world and educating others on conservation.” comments Miles.
Miles is still involved in most areas of the business and has personally overseen thousands of installations worth over 150 million pounds whilst ensuring a strong focus on first-class installations.
As a leader in Conservation, Education and Research, Dr Jane Goodall DBE supports Eco Home and has a range of systems installed by us.
